A property that looks cared for year-round usually comes down to two well-timed clean-ups, one as the leaves come down and one as everything wakes up. Weekly mowing keeps things tidy in between, but these two visits set the tone for the season.
Fall, from October into early December: remove leaves before they mat down and smother the turf, cut back spent perennials, refresh pine straw or mulch so beds are protected through cold snaps, and aerate and overseed any fescue. It is also the time to blow out sprinkler lines before the first hard freeze.
Spring, from late February into April: re-cut bed edges so they read as clean lines again, top up mulch to two or three inches, apply pre-emergent before soil temperatures rise and crabgrass germinates, check every sprinkler head once the system comes back on, and prune spring-blooming shrubs only after they have finished flowering.
Seasonal color belongs on both lists. Pansies and violas carry beds through winter, and warm-season annuals go in once the last frost has passed, usually mid-April around Alpharetta.
Our clean-up crews handle all of this in one scheduled visit, and we can fold it into a weekly maintenance program so nothing gets missed. Call 678-735-1270 to get on the schedule before the season turns.
